Michael E. Eidenmuller, Professor of Communications at the University of Texas at Tyler, has developed American Rhetoric, an online speech bank of '5000+ full text, audio and video (streaming) versions of public speeches, sermons, legal proceedings, lectures, debates, interviews, other recorded media events, and a declaration or two.'  Here one can study the power of the spoken word in its various forms of delivery and articulation by accessing actual speeches and other media events.  In addition to the speech bank, 'Rhetorical Figures in Sound' features 200+ audio clips that illustrate the 'various rhetorical devices used in specific rhetorical situations to induce an audience to cooperate with a speaker's persuasive purpose(s).'  What better way to find out how to convince an audience to follow one's bidding than by studying techniques of the masters!  As a bonus, read Socrates and Aristotle in the 'Scholars' section to determine 'does rhetoric impart knowledge or merely belief, and thereby constitute a false, or at best an insincere, way of knowing?'  Politicians, beware!
