Dear Participants,

You know, in the last few days I do not know how to greet everyone properly, because I can't say ”Good morning," or say “Good afternoon” or “Good evening.” And I can't, and this is absolutely true, because for someone every day is definitely not good. Every day for someone, the evening is the last. I am talking today and now about my citizens -- citizens of Ukraine who protect at the cost of their lives, protect an invaluable thing -- protect freedom.

I am very happy with what I just saw here and what I felt. I'm glad. This mood is so unifying. I am glad that we have united all of you -- the countries of the European Union today, but I did not know that at such a price. And this is a tragedy for me, a tragedy for every Ukrainian, a tragedy for our state. Such a high price. A very high price -- thousands of dead people. Two revolutions, one war and 5 days of full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.

You know, I don't talk or read from paper, because papers in the life of my state are over. All this is reality. All these dead people. This is all real life. And you know, I believe that today we give for values, for rights, for freedom, just for the desire to be equal, just like you, like every person. We give our best people, the strongest, most valuable Ukrainians, extraordinary ones. And, we very often like to say that we will defeat everyone, and I am very glad that now you are not only talking about it, but seeing it, and we will definitely defeat everyone, and I am sure of it.

There is such an expression: “the Ukrainian choice of Europe.” What we aspired to, and what we headed to and are heading to. And I would very much like to hear today, from you to us now, the choice of Ukraine by Europe. I have a couple of minutes to talk to you, because we have such small breaks due to constant shelling and rocket attacks.

This morning was tragic for all of us: two cruise missiles targeting Kharkiv. This is a city that is close to the borders with the Russian Federation. There were always a lot of Russians there and they were always friends, there were very warm relations. There are more than twenty universities there, it was and still is the city with the largest number of universities in our country.

Young people, bright and smart, who always gather and gathered for all the holidays in the largest square in our state. Freedom Square. And this is the largest square in Europe, and it is true. This Freedom Square. Imagine, in the morning -- two cruise missiles in Freedom Square! Dozens of victims. This is the price of freedom. We are fighting simply for our land and for our freedom. And believe me, despite the fact that all the major cities of our state are now blocked, no one will enter our freedom and state. Believe me, every square of today, this day, whatever it is called, it will be called Freedom Square. In every city of our state.

No one will break us. We are strong. We are Ukrainians.

We have, you know, a desire for our children to live. I think that's fair. Yesterday, 16 children were killed.

Will President Putin say again that this is some kind of operation, and they are hitting the military infrastructure? Where are our children? What military factories do they work at? At what missiles are they? Maybe they ride in tanks? You killed 16 children!

Dear friends, we have very motivated people. Very. We are fighting for our rights, freedom and life. And now we are fighting for survival. And this is our most important motivation. But we are also fighting to be equal members of Europe. I believe that today we are showing everyone that we are like this. With us, the European Union will definitely be stronger. Without you, Ukraine will be lonely. We have proved our strength, proved that we are at least the same as you. Prove that you are with us. Prove that you won't let us go. Prove that you are really Europeans. And then life will win over death, and light will win over darkness.

Шановні присутні,

Ви знаєте, я останні дні не знаю як правильно всіх вітати, тому що я не можу казати ”добрий ранок”, або казати “доброго дня” чи “добрий вечір”. І не можу, і це абсолютна правда, тому що щоденно для когось цей день точно не добрий. Щоденно для когось цей вечир останній. Я говорю сьогодні і зараз про своїх громадян - громадян України, які захищають ціною свого життя, захищають безцінь - захищають свободу.

Я дуже радий, що те, що я зараз побачив тут, і те, що відчув. Я радий. Цей настрій, такий об'єднуючій. Я радий, що ми об'єднали сьогодні всіх вас  - країни Європейського Союзу, але я не знав що такою ціною. І це трагедія для мене, трагедія для кожного українця, трагедія для нашої держави. Така висока ціна. Дуже висока ціна - тисячі загиблих людей.  Дві революції, одна війна і 5 днів повномасштабного вторгнення Російської Федерації. Ви знаєте, я не говорю, не читаю папірці, тому що папірці в житті моєї держави закінчились. Все це реальність. Всі ці загиблі люди. Все це справжнє життя. І и знаєте, я вважаю що ми віддаємо сьогодні за цінності, за права, за свободу, просто за бажання бути рівними, такими самими як ви, як кожна людина. Ми віддаємо наших найкращих людей, найміцніших, найцінніших українців, надзвичайних.

І, ми дуже часто любимо говорити, що ми всіх переможемо, і я дуже радий що зараз ви вже про це не тільки говорите, а бачити це, і ми точно всіх переможемо, а я впевнений в цьому. Є такий вираз: “Український вибір Європи”. Те, чого ми прагнули, і до чого йшли і йдемо.  І я б дуже хотів щоб сьогодні звучав у вас там, від вас до нас вибір Європою вже України. У мене є пару хвилин поспілкуватись з вами, тому що  такі невеличкі в нас перерви через постійні обстріли  і ракетні удари.

Цей ранок був трагічним  для всіх нас.  Дві крилаті ракети по Харкову.  Це місто, яке біля кордонів з Російською Федерацією.  Там завжди було дуже багато росіян і завжди  вони дружили, були дуже теплі  відносини.  Там більше двадцяти вузів, 

це було і є місто, де найбільша кількість університетів в нашій країні.

Молодь яскрава, розумна,  яка завжди збирається і збиралась  на всі свята на найбільшій площі в нашій державі. Площа Свободи.  І це найбільша площа в Європі, і це є правда. Ця  Площа Свободи. Уявіть собі, зранку -  дві крилаті ракети у площу Свободи!  Десятки жертв.  Ось така  ціна  свободи.  Ми боремося просто за свою землю і за  свою свободу.  І повірте мені,  незважаючи на те, що зараз заблоковані усі великі  міста нашої держави,  ніхто в нашу свободу і в державу не зайде. Повірте мені, кожна площа  сьогодення, сьогоднішнього дня, як би вона не називалась,  вона буде називатися Площею Свободи.  В кожному місті нашої держави.

Ніхто не зламає нас. Ми сильні.  Ми українці.

У нас є, ви знаєте, бажання щоб наші діти жили. Мені здається, що це чесно. Вчора 16  дітей загинуло.

Знов президент Путін скаже, що це якась там операція, і ми  б'ємо по військовій інфраструктурі? Де наші діти? На яких вони військових заводах працюють?  На яких ракетах вони? Може вони в танках їздять? 16 дітей ти вбив!

Шановні, у нас дуже мотивований народ. Дуже. Ми боремось  за наші  права,  свободу та життя.  А зараз ми боремося за виживання.  І це  на найголовніша наша мотивація.  Але ми боремося і за те, щоби бути рівноправними членами  Європи.  Я вважаю, що сьогодні ми всім показуємо, що ми такі є. З нами  Європейський союз буде точно міцнішим.  Без вас Україна буде самотня.  Ми довели свою силу, довели, що ми, як мінімум,  такі самі як ви. Доведіть що ви разом з нами. Доведіть, що ви нас не відпускаєте. Доведіть, що ви дійсно європейці. І тоді життя переможе смерть, а світ темряву.
